Class Evaluation

  1.  I liked the hands on activities that we were able to do in this class. I liked being able to express these activities and present them to the class. I also enjoyed learning how the internet works and how data is transmitted. I found it interesting how the servers ask other servers for IP addresses. I liked learning about internet security as that has always been an interesting topic for me.
  2. Some things I did not like about the class were that some of the activities and assessments were hard. I feel that I would study a decent amount in the class and still would not get the score I thought I deserved. The activities were also difficult at times and we had little guidance or clue as to where to start. I also didn't enjoy that i was penalized for not bringing my notebook.
  3. I recommend that we get together in groups before each activity and discuss what it is really asking us to fo for some 5 to 10 minutes before we split up and do it on our own. That way we can exchange information about what we understand if we didn't get the prompt at first.
  4. A highlight for me in the class was getting good scores in my activities. I always tried my best to finish them so I feel good that my work paid off.
  5. Yes. I feel that I tried my best to perform to the best of my ability in this class. I feel I did everything I could and in my power to get good scores and the grade that I will get. However, I constantly ponder over what I did wrong and how can I improve because I didn't reach my goal of receiving an A in the class.
  6. I am trying to aim higher on my practice activities and on my assessments to ensure that I am prepared for the exam in May. From here to then, I will try my best to study hard and keep putting effort in order to get the college credit I am seeking.
  7. Although I am not reading them daily, I do take several times out of the week when I am feeling stressed or need some motivation to read them. When I am feeling stressed or feel I am not good enough or question myself I open my book and read my goals in order to remind myself why I am doing everything in the first place. Even then, I am constantly adding to my journal as I wish to fill it up.
  8. I am committed to being a CTR and Arate person 100%. I believe that ultimate success lies within oneself and in order to achieve that you must be capable of greatness and doing the right thing. Therefore, I commit myself completely to being that person in order to ensure that I get the most out of my life.

Current Innovations: Nightmare Machine

  • This computerized machine is very good at learning on its own and able to determine what scares every individual. This makes people uneasy at it is catered to everyone's fear. The machine is called Nightmare Machine and is trained by scientists.
  • This will affect everyone who comes in its way because it has the ability to take your worst fear and make it into a reality.  It creates an algorithm that would enable a computer to understand what makes certain images frightening and then use that data to transform any photo into a scary scene.
  • This can solve the problem of having to spend money at a Halloween theme park as now you can have an individual experience that will stimulate all your senses and give you a good scare.
  •  I think this innovation is amazing and cool because it caters to each person and it would be nice to go through an individual experience.

Flash Talk Takeaways
Thanks to my flash talk, I was able to learn so much more about internet censorship than I ever knew before. I owe this to the extensive research I did so that I could write my speech. I learned about the dangers of the internet, the government involvement as well as the TCP. My partners also seem to get a deeper understanding of what it is like to have the internet censored. They understood the importance of restraint for the better of our children as well as the importance of the dark web. We all agreed that the form of restraint that we have now is so much better than not having any at all because not having any would put us in danger. I also got an insight of what is expected for my performance task and how I will go about it. Next time around I will be a lot more detailed and target more specific internet content.

A.     Search Engines are the portals that allow us to search for the things we want to look for. They allow us to do research and even just explore. Without them we wouldn’t be able to find any web pages.
B.     Web Browsers impact everyday users like me. When I am doing research, I simply type in my search queries and a search engine will give me all the results and web pages so that I can find what I am looking for.
C.     It will solve the problem of aimlessly searching other places which can lead us to false information. Thanks to search engines we are able to get results in seconds as opposed to searching for hours.

D.     I think this is a very helpful innovation that we fail to appreciate more often. I can’ picture my life without it. Research and project would be so hard to do without it.

Computer Science Innovations: BMW Futuristic Motorcycle
A.  This vehicle concept is called the Motorrad Vision Next 100. It is so advanced, motorcycle riders would no longer need to use protective gear such as helmets. Also, a distinguishable feature is that the motorcycle would balance on its own.
B.  It will impact many vehicle riders and motorcycle riders across the world. It is an alternate method of transportation as well as it helps the environment.
C. It will solve issues dealing with safety. So many more accidents would be avoided due to the fact it is self-driving. Also since it sends signals from other cars, they can be alerted to avoid accidents. It also helps pollution, as the motorcycle is electric.

D. I think this innovation is an insight to the future. It’s just the start to the future transportation we are to have. It is beginning to open the portal to self- driving vehicles.

Technology Innovations
Car-to-Car Communication
A)     Car to car communication is a technology that will let cars broadcast their position, speed, steering-wheel position, brake status, and other data to other vehicles within a few hundred meters.
B)     It will impact drivers around the city because now they can use this method as a way of safer transportation and promote safe driving.
C)     It will solve the problems of crashing. Now if you come to a sudden stop you can alert cars so they are prepared. If you are making an unexpected turn you can alert cars. So many more accidents will be avoided this way.

D)     This innovation is amazing in my opinion. The rate of car accidents will be at an all time low if it happens.
